Effectiveness of Coconut Water For Growth of Chili Sprouts (Piper Retrofractum Val) Using Media Planting On Carbonated Rice Husk

Introduction

Chilli or peppers, (Piper retrofractum val) is a top choice of plants that are favored by the public as the manufacturer of hot foods. chilli spicy taste other than as a maker of spicy flavor in food, chilli plants are also used as an ornamental garden. Plants chili is one of the plants suitable to be planted outdoors.
Several factors are very influential in treatment plants is watering and planting medium to accelerate plant growth and is very effective in the treatment plant. Types of water that can be used in watering plants varies widely. Among these are plain water, coconut water, Leri (water used to wash rice), water, tea, and so forth. Growing media is also very influential in the treatment plant.
Coconut water is a plant product that can be used to increase fertility and plant growth. According Dwijoseputro (1994) in addition to coconut water contains minerals also contain cytokines, phosphorus and kinetin which serves to stimulate cell division and growth of shoots and roots. During this coconut water is widely used in laboratories as additional nutrients in the tissue culture medium.

Results of research conducted by scientists the National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (BIOTECH) in UP Los Baños, showed that coconut water has a lot of content, such as coconut water is rich in potassium (potassium) to 17%. Other minerals such as sodium (Na), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), ferum (Fe), Cuprum (Cu), Phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S). Beside rich in minerals, coconut water also contains sugar between 1.7 to 2.6%, 0.07 to 0.55% protein and contains a variety of vitamins such as citric acid, nikotina, pantotenal acid, folic acid, niacin, riboflavin and thiamin. There are also two natural hormones and cytokines that auksinin as supporting embryonic cell division coconut.

In addition to the above factors, other factors that also affect the growth of chili plants sprout is the planting medium. Land is one medium that is generally widely used. In addition to using normal soil, can also use rice husk and ferns growing media also can be used as growing media for plants sprout peppers and also all kinds of plants.
Media rice husk charcoal has the following properties: rice husk easily bind with water, not easily weathered, it is not easy to agglomerate, and is one source of calcium for all types of plants especially plants that will be examined by the researchers that chilli crop germination. Plant roots can grow to perfect as chaff guaranteed clean (sterile) and free of microorganisms that may interfere with the growth of the plant so it is good to cultivate a plant that the results are satisfactory.
Rice husk charcoal media also has the power storage of water and contains nutrients needed for growth. Media used to have a lot of cavities soil so roots can freely grow, move and spread Everywhere mainly propagates toward the fountain. Excess water in the media can easily flow down so that soil fertility is maintained properly.

 Time and Place of Research
The research was carried out on:
Day: Sunday
Date: 14-21
Month: March
Year: 2010
Place: At home, Hamlet Komerean RT 02 RW 01, Village Sukorejo, District Kota Anyar, Probolinggo, East Java.
Others: Researchers using only simple tools and materials.
Procedure
Tools : a knife, 6 plant pots.
Materials : 1 Kg Rice Husk Charcoal, Coconut Water 8400 mL, some chili and soil.
a. Take all the tools to be used in this study, then wash and cleaned.
b. Drain those tools.
c. Use the tools after tool dry.
First, fill pots with soil and rice husk charcoal following some plant seeds.
Then, Flush pot twice a day regularly every day for 1 week (depending on needs) containing chilli seeds sprout plants with coconut water.
place the pot in a place exposed to direct sunlight.
Observe the chilli plant growth for 1 week and repeat the procedure 3 times.
